This exercice was inspired by the exercice “A Search for Communautaire Truth” from “Bitcoin is the Gun” by Allen Farrington and Sasha Myers.

From the fourteenth to the seventeenth centuries, a great shift in consciousness took exercice in the Western world. This variation is known as the Restauration. During this period, the church was gradually removed from the role of mediator in the lives of citizens. The Church was the center of all political, monetary and liant powers. In the Restauration, a liant class of merchants emerged as the supérieur class. This class did not need a medium to immédiat their daily lives and dictate the partage of wealth. Traders introduced double-entry bookkeeping as the first commencement of decentralized money. Merchants also led the way in decentralized communications by adopting the printing press. This category has seen the value of different bonshommes of assets. The Medici family legend was born not from investing in banks and agence, but from a conscious investment in immaterial foncier projects. Art and artists have become a portière of value that is not tied to any cité, political or ideological bâtiment. All this will subsequently lead to the separation of the state from the church.

It’s time to genre closely at the relationship between art and Bitcoin, so that we can visualize and create a new reality with Bitcoin. For artists, Bitcoin offers the opportunity to present a new sorte of reality inextricably linked with a new way of determining value. With each artwork, artists ultimately investigate and reshape personal and ordinaire identity. Each piece of art allows us to recreate the world. The Medici family invested in the form of value that promised to withstand the limitations of time and space. Art has become a notebook of knowledge, education, info, and value. By being the creators of today, artists have an amazing opportunity to become their “own” Medici family through Bitcoin. Artists have the opportunity to lead a different kind of revolution and to inspire the separation of state and money. As colossal as artists are directly dependent on money structures linked and connected to individu, political and economic ideologies, they will never be free.
Bitcoin is basically emboîture freedom. It was born out of the bouleversement of the 2008 collectif financial crisis. Bitcoin seems a natural fit for Canadian artists or any artists anywhere in the world. However, skepticism and insufficient reliable education prevent artists from directly participating. My hope for this exercice is that it can work its way through the diverse landscape of Canadian artists. To spark curiosity emboîture the supremacy of artistic identity that can lead to a better life for them.
In a socioeconomic system that systematically undermines and neglects the financial stability of artists, Bitcoin has the potential to bring a sense of security in the colossal run. Bitcoin can serve as a defense of financial freedom for artists. It can serve as a defense of the artist’s intellectuel health and psychic strength. Finally, Bitcoin may provide an economic opportunity for artists that they probably didn’t have. Artists are not thriving in this age of capitalism and the breath of globalization affects artists’ freedoms even more. Reliance on various centralized monetary flots such as art councils, private or state-run institutions, sponsors and donors, means that artists are forced to satisfy a desirable political framework for ideas in order to continue to receive funding, even if they do not follow this ideology. In this unhealthy system of érosive and manipulative observance, artists lose their identity, their integrity, and their faculté d’individu.
Words have power. They transform and immédiat the thought that creates reality. For a colossal time, art worked from the champ of absolute existential scarcity. Art has been forced to endlessly explain why it exists. Not surprisingly, the false and saboteuse sujet, “Who needs artists?” It seems legal. Within Bitcoin, rules are set with some governing principles to enforce equal édit and freedom for all participants. However, Bitcoin does not have a ruler. Like art, Bitcoin applies the principles of long-term thinking, dureté, and perseverance. Art and bitcoin are more intertwined and intricately involved than it seems at first glance.
