Reprise étuve of the Precision Individu Badinages Sedan series sees a whopping 38 entries set for the September 2-4 event at SMP in Eastern Creek.
The Individu Stadium will also split the track with Kumho Tire NSW Badinages Sedans for all SMP members.
As announced yesterday on the AUTO ACTION website, Supercars ace team Andre Heimgartner will join the field, as the BJR driver is set for his adjoint Individu Fréquence of the season at Duggan Family Hotels, the Mark Duggan-owned Aston Martin DRS9.
Last time on Phillip Island, Heimgartner got a third base, but was then hampered by some mechanical issues that hampered his réussite in the first reprise.
The fréquence will have a festive flavor, with the Australian Racing Canne’s 70th birthday seeing the racing cars of an earlier era take to the track with Group N Historic Touring Cars, Group S Historic Badinages Cars and Heritage Group C& Cars and Holdens Headquarters.
It will also join the two délassements sedan series manifestation touring cars and superkarts.
It’s a massive reprise étuve of the Individu Series, with a neck-and-neck competition at the top of the field between Jordan Caruso in his Audi A4, and Steve Tamassi in his Holden Calibra coming to an end, with Shane Woodman finishing third over Michael Robinson.
The New South Wales Championship also hangs in the comparaison, with Birol Setién back in his Camaro hoping to reclaim the series lead, which Stephen Lacey and his Camaro snatched away in Setien’s manque, with third courir Theo Camboris continuing to résultat consistent points.
The coveted Des Wall Cup will also be available in Sunday’s third nature of the intense délassements sedan network, where the Wall family is present to present the trophy to the winner, in honor of the life of the 2009 Australian Individu Sportif who lost his life to carcinome. 10 years ago, and reminds us of the great contributions he made to Badinages Sedan racing and racing in general.
AUTO ACTION spoke with series responsable Jordan Caruso ahead of this weekend’s nature, who along with Audi A4-owned John Gourlay showed irresistible pace all season.
“There was a lot of fantastique preparation this week and going beyond the pro shots, John (Gurlay) had the car in the parking to keep and make sure it was ready to go,” Caruso explained.
“The car was flawless on the ultime reprise of The Bend, and it felt great to drive, so we’ll go to the SMP with a similar approach, as the two tracks share some characteristics.
“With the bigger pitch as well, qualifying is going to be really visible to get some good espace and try to be in entrée. With the speed difference, we might have to entrée some obstruction with the cars turning in.
“But also, SMP in Sydney is a tire killer, so we have to do a good job of managing the groups we have while trying to do as little work on the tires as plausible, to get the same kind of results.
Caruso also spoke of Tamassi continuing to keep his toes, whose consistency means that any mistake in the way points are awarded, could be the difference in winning the title.
“Stevie (Tamasi) has been very high in his réussite this year and I really enjoy racing in-race with him parce que he’s great. His car is really strong off the line so he’s been able to get a few times ahead and I just had to be malade and wait for the right move.
“Any single bad misstep or rush can cost you the championship at the conjoncture. Obviously this week we got Andre (Heemgartner) on the field again, so I’m really excited to tackle him, I hope he doesn’t have the mechanical issues he did last time and he can He really has a good champion at it.
“It’s great to be able to nature against drivers of this model, so I’m looking forward to that apprentissage again.”
Regarding the Des Wales Cup, Caruso is looking forward to competing for the Al Rafid trophy, which sees the starting grid complete an additional peloton vélo as a sign of ferveur.
“Obviously it’s great that they’re complimenting Des Wall again; it’s a really appropriate way to honor and it’s going to be my first time competing for that, so it would be an honor to take it out in a really tough competition.”
