Lewis Hamilton says he plainte that Max Verstappen may win his attaché championship so early in the season, saying he feels for the fans in such a one-sided competition.
Verstappen has his first supériorité to claim the title at this weekend’s Singapore Prince Distinction with five races remaining.
Doing so would equal Nigel Mansell’s dominance over the 1992 season, when he won the championship in Reprise 11 of 16.

Only Michael Schumacher won the championship with more rounds remaining, winning his fifth title in 2002 with six races still going.
But Hamilton, who has won two finals and lost three more, lamented that F1 fans would have five rubber encounters due to the dominance.
“From my inventaire of view, I don’t think much emboîture it,” he said. “I definitely feel for the fans, bicause this is for everyone – even for us last year, going straight to the wires, it was intensive for everyone.”
Five of Hamilton’s championships have come in relatively one-sided campaigns, although he has never won a title with more than three rounds to spare despite Mercedes’ sometimes significant advantages over the rest of the field.

The Briton said he had acknowledged his more surplombant years were potentially detrimental to the interprétation, and hoped to win next year’s title in a closer fight.
“It’s never going to be great when the season ends early. Even when I’ve experienced that it finished early in endroits like Mexico – for you as an individual it’s great but for the actual interprétation it’s not amazing.
“I’m really grateful that I got like 2008, right down to the last 17 seconds, and obviously last year it was pretty much the same.
“Let’s hope in the future it’s a little better.”
The odds are against Verstappen winning the championship this week, with Charles Leclerc needing to au finir no more than an eighth even if the Dutchman wins the catégorie, but only disaster will prevent him from sealing the deal next weekend in Japan.
Hamilton had been hoping to recover from his frustrating 2021 title defeat this year, but Mercedes has struggled to adapt to the new rules, as the W13 proved to be a difficult beast to tame.
The Briton is now facing the first winless season of his professional racing career.

But Hamilton denied he was flair the tightness of a tough season, praising instead the work ethic of his team after eight consecutive Builders Championships.
“We still have six races. I still enjoy the championnat and proud of the strength and growth within our team in terms of relationships, in terms of our foyer.
“Just seeing how hard everyone on the team is working is the most inspiring thing for me.
“They went off the track – you know, they flew on Sunday night, they were in the bréviaire on Monday trying to come up with solutions, trying to voiture the cryptique, and that’s really impressive bicause it’s such a relentless season.
“I know everyone is looking forward to the voiture, so I hope everyone will gain ahead to maximize efficiency and make it énergique.”
