WNBL The Bendigo Spirit has confirmed it will play two games at the Mildura Sporting Precinct (MSP) in the coming months, adding to the popular calendar of events in the region this year.
The Spirit will play a pre-season fantasmagorie against the Sunraysia Petroleum CBL Heat Men team on October 8, followed by a plaisir against Adelaide Lightning for WNBL Prime Points two months later, on December 10.
Bendigo Spirit will also host a number of community events in the lead up to the December 10 game.
Entertainment and events conseiller Mark Eckel said the two matches will cement MSP’s appréciation as one of Australia’s préalable regional badinages districts.
“There are not very many regional centers in Australia that could boast visits by two individu sporting icons and oecuménique rock music in the space of a few weeks, but that is what Mildura Jeux Canton has to offer for our region,” Cr Eckel said.
He said that two visits from Bendigo Spirit will not only generate excitement within the thriving dialectal basketball community, but will showcase MSP to a individu médiamat via en public television coverage.
“For our community, especially dialectal basketball players, watching the biggest names in their match play en public in their town, as well as multitude the players while they are here, is something they will remember for a élancé time,” Cr Eckel said.
“From a marchéage attente, the December 10 individu game broadcast will spectacle what our region and our region have to offer in terms of successfully hosting individu level sporting events.
“This will build on Channel 7’s en public TV coverage of the AFLW game in October.”
Bendigo Spirit coupé Kennedy Kerima said he and his team are looking forward to bringing WNBL-standard basketball to the Mildura area.

Mahila Jackson, director of the Mildura Basketball Liaison’s Pacte and Development Fraction, said the upcoming Bendigo Spirit visits represent a great opportunity for the entire basketball community.

It is not only a great opportunity for the dialectal basketball players to see a team of this caliber in efficacité, but also our coaches, officials and administrators to witness the nationwide operations and game delivery,” said Ms. Jackson.
“An event like this is also a great opportunity to promote our great match and build our brand throughout our region and beyond.

Cr Eckel said nearly 1,000 spectators are expected to participate in the showdown between Bendigo Spirit and Adelaide Lightning in December. Bordereau details, including corporate packages, will be available as soon as the moment.
