WE MEET THE FUTURE PROVINCIAL PRESIDENT OF THE TRABZON PARTY HASAN KAMİL VELİOĞLU – The strengthened parliamentary system, which was proposed following negotiations with the common spirit of 6 parties, is a management system that will best meet the needs of our country in the name of democracy. We bring to Turkish politics a system in which common sense prevails, in which each party can contribute to the solution of the problems we face.
Ramadan Rabbit – Trabzon
– Can you compare the presidential party system with the parliamentary system?
When the presidential party system was imposed in 2017, even though I was an administrator of the AKP at the time, I opposed it. I didn’t even go to vote. Because I saw what a system in which the parliament was deactivated and all powers were left to the president could bring to the country. It was obvious that a totalitarian regime in which control and control mechanisms were disabled or not and a person was given unlimited authority would not suit Turkey. The reinforced parliamentary system (GP), on the other hand, is a responsible and accountable structure where this totalitarian regime is put in the closet, the institutions control each other. Here, as a general practitioner, we also have important contributions. We want a system in which the shortcomings and weaknesses of the old parliamentary system are reinforced and parliament becomes more active with its opposition. In this regard, significant progress has been made together as 6 parties. The reinforced parliamentary system, which was proposed at the end of the negotiations with the common spirit of these 6 parties, is a management system which will best meet the needs of our country in the name of democracy.
– How would you rate the summit?
These 6 parties do not only meet with the strengthened parliamentary system. It will meet in the country’s economy, law, foreign policy, health, education, in other words, in all the necessary fields, and will present projects that will open corridors for the country to come out of these difficult conditions. This is why we find this union important, unprecedented in Turkish political history. This culture of consensus will now exist in our country. The polarizing and marginalizing political style and intransigent attitudes have taken a heavy toll on the country. We bring to Turkish politics a system in which common sense prevails, in which each party can contribute to the solution of the problems we face.
What is the most important problem in the country today?
The most important problem is the Bahceli problem. Whatever period Devlet Bahçeli became a partner in power, look at those periods, he always left debris behind. Bahçeli has not only contributed to the solution of any problem in the governments in which he has a voice, but has become a structure that produces problems. Each time he lost his right to speak, the country relaxed. Right now the country is mismanaged again, look, we live in a time when Bahçeli and Perinçek have their say. From the moment we rescued the country from this structure and moved to the GP system, the new common sense and the culture of consensus, this country is getting better and better every day…
– Isn’t it difficult to do politics in Trabzon, which is one of the provinces where the government finds the most support?
It is difficult to do politics in Trabzon. Because everyone is a coach here, everyone is a politician. For this reason, Trabzon maintains its political weight in every period, and its effectiveness in the country’s politics comes from this. This does not reflect the fact that the government is strong in Trabzon today. When we go out into the streets, we see an environment where AKP supporters and silent MHP supporters defend power. Where there is neither law nor justice, people are intimidated by fear. The outcome of the polls in the first election will show how wrong the perception that the government is strong in Trabzon is.
-Can I have your opinion on Yeni Asya Newspaper and Bediuzzaman?
As Yeni Asya newspaper, I would like to thank you for your visit today and your support for the alliance. Today, we all see the difficulties encountered by the press which does not count on power. As Yeni Asya newspaper, I would like to give my congratulations to all the news organizations that do not condescend to this and show a principled position while the support offered by the government is there.
As for Bediuzzaman, he is an important litigant who did not hesitate to pay the price for his case. He is a religious scholar whom we respect and who contributed to our unity and solidarity throughout his life.
